Choosing the Right Lip Filler for You (and Just in Time for Valentine’s Day!)

Written by: Kathy York, Nurse Practitioner and Lacy Gill, Nurse Injector
February 14th is a little over a month away, and now’s the time when clients start thinking about giving their pout a little love to get those kissable Valentine’s Day lips.
The reason that our clients come in for consultations or maintenance varies. Some clients simply have naturally thin lips and just want to achieve a fuller appearance, while others have noticed their lips thinning over time and may also have seen vertical lip lines become more noticeable. Whatever your reason, we have a wide range of lip injection options to help you achieve your perfect pout.

Natural Looking Results

Volbella & Refyne:
Volbella and Refyne are ideal to fill fine lip lines and add subtle volume, as its spreadable gel creates a youthful, smooth look. Many clients choose Volbella and Refyne to restore the natural look they once had. Other clients who are new to lip injections opt for Volbella or Refyne, as it allows them to start exploring what pout they’re looking to achieve (natural versus more plump) gradually.

Fuller Looking Results

Juvederm Ultra Plus & Defyne:
Juvederm Ultra Plus and Defyne adds more fullness and plumps thin lips. Many clients who have naturally thin lips, have had their lips thin over time, or those who want a fuller lip prefer Juvederm Ultra Plus and Defyne.

This CFR client’s treatment was 1 Syringe of Juvéderm® using the “ribbon technique”.

Deciding which is best for you:
We understand that there are many filler options, and selecting the right one for the look you’d like to achieve can be tough! That’s why our skilled injectors are here to help. We offer complimentary consultation so you can meet our team, discuss your desired results, and learn more about your options. To book, call us at .
Prepping, Treatment, and Healing/Recovery:
Before your treatment its best to avoid alcohol and NSAIDS/aspirin for one week, if possible, as this may minimize bruising.
During your treatment, you may request to have topical lidocaine numbing cream applied, which stays on for about 10 minutes to help relieve any minor discomfort. Depending on how many syringes are administered, each appointment ranges between 30-45 minutes.
As with any injection treatment, after, there is the possibility of temporary swelling, tenderness and bruising. However, at CFR, we are always looking for ways to improve our client’s experience and outcomes with the latest innovations and technology. It is for this reason that we have added the AccuVein vein visualization technology, commonly used in hospitals, to help improve our aesthetic procedures by providing better vein visibility (which means there’s an even smaller chance of bruising!)
We advise that you plan your treatment 2 weeks ahead of any events or vacations.
Results are FDA indicated to last approximately 9-12 months.

“For so long, society has perpetuated the idea that youth is the only answer, and that a woman’s worth is directly tied to her age. But advances in nutrition, healthcare and medicine mean people live longer, healthier lives. While we can’t stop the aging process, I love to have conversations with women about aging gracefully and with dignity. Research has shown a direct correlation between body image and psychological well-being, and it is my belief that women can be more confident and look more beautiful as we age!”
