1. What is Juvederm Voluma XC?
Juvederm Voluma XC is the next generation of fillers from Allergan Cosmetic. Voluma has been on the market since 2005 in Europe and like it’s sister product Juvederm, Voluma is made of hyaluronic acid, a sugar that occurs in our body naturally.
2. What is Juvederm Voluma XC indicated for?
Juvederm Voluma is indicated for volume loss in the mid cheek and central face. Due to fat and bone loss as we age the face can look sunken or hollow. Sun damage and aging further play a part in skin laxity and jowling. Juvederm Voluma can be combined with Botox, Juvederm Ultra Plus and skin resurfacing to achieve a non surgical facelift. For the younger person, Voluma in the hands of a skilled injector can enhance one’s beauty by creating soft, feminine features they may not have possessed before.

4. Is the treatment painful?
Juvederm Voluma is combined with Lidocaine a local anesthetic which makes the procedure very tolerable. Numbing cream or ice can be also be used to assure the patient is comfortable. Most patients report little to no pain at all when receiving Juvederm Voluma and other nonsurgical facial enhancements.
5. Can men be treated?

6. Does Juvederm Voluma require any special training or techniques?

8. How is the recovery?

10. What can be done to prevent bruising?
A caring provider will go to great lengths to ensure you do not bruise during your procedure. Ice, Arnica and a gentle technique are routinely used at the Center for Facial Rejuvenation. Also, discontinuing fish oils, NSAIDs and alcoholic beverages 2-3 days prior to treatment is always a good idea to reduce the chance of bruising. However, always check with your provider before discontinuing any medicines.
11. Can Juvederm Voluma be removed if I don’t like the results?
The best part about any of the Hyaluronic Acid Fillers like Juvederm and Juvederm Voluma is that they can be dissolved at any time with an enzyme called Hyaluranidase. Although it is rare for a client to wish to remove the filler, it is one of the advantages of the product.
